If you don't know Jack, then the only person you can blame is yourself. Born in Venlo, the Netherlands, Jack has lived all over the world, including Halifax, Boston, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Trondheim. The combined strength of speaking seven different languages and juggling four (five, any day now) balls a variety of different ways, allows Jack to get along in nearly any culture.

Passionate about science and research, Jack spent 14 years in university, where he picked up two master's degrees and a PhD in fields such as mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence. Outside the classroom, he continues to challenge his mind as the world's #1 expert on the board game Hex. Yes, this is true. When not fueling his mind, Jack can be found fueling his body with his favorite Indian platters or munching on some fruits and nuts.

Originally a runner, Jack grew up watching triathlons in their early, heroic era, and so decided to pick up swimming and cycling to become a triathlete. He is still looking for a triathlon where he can practice his Krav Maga on the competition in the transition areas.

Jack signed up for PQ because he had no clue what he was in for until it was almost too late, and by that time he knew that he'd regret doing it for the next 10 months. Signed up anyway because he knew that he'd regret not doing it for the rest of his life.
